KUALA LUMPUR, May 12  -- The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia categorically condemns the incursion and attacks by the Israeli regime against Palestinian civilians and worshipers at  Al-Aqsa Mosque and the killing and wounding of Palestinians on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

The embassy in a statement issued Wednesday and sent to Bernama said the attack was a blatant crime against humanity, and proved to the world the criminal nature of the Israeli occupation forces.

It also highlighted the need for prompt international action to stop the violation of the most basic principles of international human rights.

“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia reiterates its all-out support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian cause and calls on the international community to act swiftly and decisively to respond to the latest Israeli aggressions and to hold the Israeli regime responsible and accountable for the flagrant violation of human rights and international law,” the statement said.

It added that Iran continues to stand in strong solidarity with the people of Palestine and reaffirms its unwavering support for the Palestinians and their cause for achieving freedom from the Israeli regime's illegal occupation.

The Embassy had also expressed condolences to families of those killed in this incident and wishes a rapid recovery for those wounded.
