TNB contributes basic food supply to 9,918 asnaf

KUALA LUMPUR, June 15  -- Concerned over their plight of those hard-hit by the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has come forward to contribute RM420,000 worth of basic food supply to 9,918 asnaf.

The items which include rice, sugar, eggs, biscuits, flour as well as dates have been distributed since April 27, through various programms organised by TNB, to ease the burden of the group, especially during the months of Ramadan and Syawal.

TNB Chief Global Business Solutions officer Mohamad Ariff Zainol said the contribution demonstrated the strong commitment of the utility company, as a caring corporate entity.

“It is hoped that our small contribution will help ease the burden of the families of the recipients and at the same time forge closer ties with needy communities.

“It will also remind us to always be grateful as well as keep on helping and sharing ‘rezeki’ with those in need,” he said in a statement today.

Mohamad Ariff said following the implementation of MCO 3.0, some of the aid was distributed to the recipients, including People's Housing Project (PPR) residents by TNB staff from door to door.

Meanwhile, he said in support of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, TNB would ensure that all its employees register for the vaccination.

TNB would also ensure that electricity supply at vaccine storage and vaccination centres nationwide remains stable throughout the implementation of the immunisation programme.
