Cops have never prevented Perak FC supporters from entering stadium to watch match

IPOH, April 13 (Bernama) -- Police have never issued an order to prohibit any Perak football supporters from entering the stadium to watch a match, said state police chief, Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid.

He said supporters were allowed to enter the stadium as long as they had purchased valid football match tickets.

“We cannot stop any supporters from watching a match. We only conduct checks to ensure they do not bring in prohibited items such as weapons. We’ve also never stopped any supporters from bringing in drums into the stadium.

“But if the stadium’s management issued an order (ban on bringing in drums), we will not allow the fans to do so,” he told reporters after inspecting the COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance and High-Profile Ramadan Bazaar Policing programme at the Indera Mulia Stadium grounds, here, today.

This was following the allegations by some Perak FC football supporters that police had banned the Bos Gaurus supporters from entering the Perak Stadium to watch the FA Cup match between Perak FC and Kijang Rangers FC on March 31.

Meanwhile, Mior Faridalathrash said police had issued 115 compound notices to individuals for violating the stipulated SOP at the Ramadan bazaars.

He added that the failure to scan the MySejahtera QR code was the most common offence committed, with 91 cases, followed by not wearing a face mask and traders not providing the MySejahtera QR Code.

“Police will not compromise with anyone who violates the SOP,” he said, adding that 106 Ramadan bazaars are operating throughout the state.
