PUTRAJAYA, April 29 (Bernama) -- A total of 32 orphans from Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar, Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor were feted at a breaking of fast event sponsored by Boraombak Sdn Bhd.
At the event, Boraombak also gave donations of RM10,813 to Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar manager Airol Faraqee Abu Bakar, which was presented by Bernama chairman, Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi.
Ras Adiba, who is also OKU Sentral chairman, said she was honoured to be able to be with the orphans, aged seven to 17, and to support Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar.
"Previously, I brought my friends, who are also people with disabilities (PwD), but today I’m touched to be able to provide assistance to them. So thank you Boraombak as this is something that is so meaningful towards the end of Ramadan," she said.
Boraombak operations director Afrizal Zamzami said the donation provided to Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar was the proceeds of the company’s buffet sales throughout the month of Ramadan this year.
"Alhamdulillah, we were all sold out for breaking of fast at Boraombak Marina Putrajaya and the we are returning the proceeds to those in need.
"This is part of our company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme and we hope the donation can help with providing whatever is needed by Rumah Bakti Al-Kausar and bring cheer to these orphans,” he added.
