Maiwp Labuan Gives Aid Of More Than Rm900,000 To Hospital

LABUAN, March 21 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) Labuan has presented RM902,234 in financial aid to Labuan Hospital to enhance healthcare services and support patient welfare.

The aid was given under MAIWP’s health equipment financing assistance scheme and cash aid programme.

MAIWP Labuan manager Md Fadzli Md Saad said of this amount, RM874,234 is for equipment financing in the Ophthalmology Department.

MAIWP has also allocated RM18,000 for 180 Muslim patients at the hospital to ease their financial burden during Ramadan festivities. 

“The remaining RM10,000 will be utilised for the friendly worship kit programme,” he said at the presentation of the financial aid at Labuan Hospital today.

Md Fadzli said MAIWP has approved RM823,100 for various health assistance schemes for asnaf this year to provide comprehensive support to the underprivileged.

He emphasised the importance of easing the burden on patients and promoting asnaf development in Labuan through aid distribution and support for economic initiatives.
