Wisma Putra hosts Iftar For Foreign Envoys

PUTRAJAYA, March 27 (Bernama) -- Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan today hosted an iftar session for foreign envoys and ministry staff at Wisma Putra here.

Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, who previously held the portfolio of Foreign Minister, was also present.

Representatives from the media were also in attendance, including Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai and Editor-in-Chief D. Arul Rajoo.

The guests were treated to a variety of traditional dishes, including smoked meat cooked in spicy coconut milk, sambal daun kayu, assorted raw vegetables, and pumpkin cooked in coconut milk.

In his speech, Mohamad said Malaysia is fortunate that its people lived in a peaceful environment compared to some other countries afflicted by wars and various conflicts.

Therefore, he urged everyone to ensure that the security enjoyed thus far is preserved and enjoyed forever.

"In this Ramadan month, let us take the opportunity to further enhance our acts of worship and good deeds.

"Let us ensure that the blessing of security bestowed upon us can be enjoyed indefinitely," he said.
