Bernama, columbia Asia Fete Orphans, Asnaf From Baitun Nurrawdhah 

KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (Bernama) -- A total of 20 orphans and asnaf (tithe recipients) from Baitun Nurrawdhah were feted today in an iftar event organised by the Colombia Asia-Setapak in collaboration with Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama).

Bernama Chief Executive Officer, Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said that this programme with Columbia Asia is the second one held in collaboration with Bernama.

"We previously collaborated for the Deepavali celebration last year, and I see this partnership as very positive, as we share the common goal of assisting underprivileged children and bringing joy to them," she said.

She said this at the Ramadan Iftar event with orphans and asnaf from Baitun Nurrawdhah here, which was also attended by Bernama Deputy Editor-in-Chief (News Service) Nasriah Darus and Deputy-in-Chief (Economic Service), Azlina Aziz.

At the event, the orphans and asnaf received souvenir contributions, new clothes for Aidifitri, and Aidifitri pocket money.

Columbia Asia Region 1 general manager Engku Marina Engku Hatim expressed her hope that the contributions given to the orphans and asnaf aged between four to 17 years would brighten their Aidifitri celebrations this year.

"The contributions we provide include Aidifitri clothes and pocket money so that they can celebrate Hari Raya joyfully," she said.

Meanwhile, sharing about Columbia Asia's plans, Engku Marina said that a new hospital will be built in Batu Kawan, Penang next year.

"We also have expansions planned for Columbia Asia Hospitals in Cheras and Klang, where we are adding another 100 beds. For this year, we have already acquired the Ramsay Group, adding four more hospitals in Malaysia and three in Indonesia," she said.

The four hospitals in Malaysia are the Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre, Ara Damansara Medical Centre, and Park City Medical Centre.
