JAKARTA, March 28 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta hosted a Nuzul Quran and Iftar Ceremony at the Embassy Complex in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Datuk Syed Md Hasrin Tengku Hussin, joined 200 attendees, comprising embassy officials, staff, and the Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, along with their families, and Malaysian citizens residing here.
Former Mufti of Sabah, Datuk Bungsu@Aziz Jaafar, was invited to deliver a lecture on fasting entering its final phase, and Nuzul Quran, the event of the Quran's revelation on the 17th of Ramadan.
Speaking to the media, Syed Md Hasrin hoped that the lecture would provide benefits and understanding of all the practices carried out throughout the month of Ramadan so far.
"In addition to strengthening ties and getting to know those who are newly placed and working here, we can share insights about fasting rituals and the importance of this celebration," he said.
Those attending the embassy's annual event also experienced the atmosphere of breaking the fast with Malaysian cuisine and enjoyed a post-Tarawih (special Ramadan prayer) meal or ‘moreh’, reminiscent of back home.
