Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang 2024 Rakes In Rm3 Mln In Sales Value

MELAKA, April 8 (Bernama) -- Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang 2024 managed to gross RM3 million in the sales value of various items within 15 days starting Ramadan 1.

Organiser Abdul Rashid Omar said the sales value was estimated through the distribution of 100,000 lucky draw coupons which is given for every purchase of RM30. 

"This year, we distributed 100,000 lucky draw coupons to traders compared to 50,000 last year.

"The total number of visitors is also estimated to be 300,000 people from Ramadan 1 until yesterday shopping at the stalls of 205 traders at Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang 2024," he told reporters here last night.

He said this after the Gala Ramadan Bazar Klebang 2024 Summit Night opening which was also attended by the state Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Rais Yasin.

Commenting further, Abdul Rashid said the response received from traders was positive thus proving that the organisation of Glam Ramadan Bazaar Klebang 2024 helped them generate better income.

He said during the last 15 Ramadans, almost 90 per cent of traders were able to pay the rent for the tent site provided and there was no issue of expensive rental prices.

"The second Klebang Bazar Glam Ramadan event is also in a new location, we can see that the trip is smoother and there is no severe traffic jam like last year because this year, the Ramadan bazaar here only involves one organiser in one location instead of two organisers in the location near last year," he said.

He said the Ramadan bazaar attracts not only locals but also visitors from outside Melaka including from Singapore because various interesting activities are provided including a lucky draw offering lucrative prizes such as cars and performances by popular artists including Hazama and Azlan and The Typewriter.

He said Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang 2024 is also one of the focus destinations for visitors thus helping the state government to harness the arrival of tourists in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024 (VMY2024).

He said the Ramadan bazaar will operate until the eve of Hari Raya and traders have started giving attractive discounts to clear their items seven days before Raya.
