Penang takmir teachers to receive RM750 aid in conjunction with Ramadan
KEPALA BATAS, April 7 (Bernama) -- The Penang State Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP) has announced that all takmir (religious) teachers in the state will receive a special aid of RM750 in conjunction with Ramadan which will be paid before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
MAINPP president Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman, who is also Penang deputy chief minister I said a total of RM159,000 would be paid out to 212 takmir teachers in the state.
He said the aid was aimed at safeguarding the maslahah (interest) and welfare of takmir teachers who are assisting the council to enliven mosques and surau statewide during the month of Ramadan.
"Hopefully, with the aid, we can at least ease the expenses of takmir teachers and their family members during Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri," he said while officiating the state-level gathering and breaking of fast ceremony for takmir teachers here today.
Also present were Penang mufti Datuk Seri Dr Wan Salim Wan Mohd Noor and the Department of Islamic Development Dakwah Division senior director Roslan Said.
