Perak has no plans to enforce ruling on bringing children to Ramadan, Aidilfitri bazaars
IPOH, April 12 (Bernama) -- Perak is not planning to enforce a ruling on bringing children to Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars in the state, says Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
He said, however, parents and guardians were advised to continue to adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the Ministry of Health and the National Security Council to curb the COVID-19 outbreak even though the country has entered the transition to endemic phase.
He also reminded the people to be mindful as the Omicron variant of COVID-19 still poses a threat, in addition to Omicron’s new sub-variant dubbed XE that has emerged in foreign countries.
“We still have no such rulings (as enforced in Melaka)…but we are always reminding the people, especially parents to be vigilant as many may have forgotten because they are eager to celebrate Raya (Aidilfitri),” he said in a media conference held after the Perak state government’s Clients Day at Stadium Indera Mulia here today.
The Melaka Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Zaidi Attan was reported as saying that the state would enforce a ruling on bringing children to Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaars this week to ensure their safety and prevent them from COVID-19 infection.
