Takaful Ikhlas, MAIPk ink MoU to improve wakaf management in Perak
KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Takaful Ikhlas Family Bhd (Takaful IKHLAS) and Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu Perak (MAIPk) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate in managing and developing wakaf programmes.
The MOU was signed by Takaful IKHLAS president and chief executive officer (CEO) Muhammad Fikri Mohamad Rawi and MAIPk CEO Shahrul Azam Shaari in Ipoh, Perak yesterday.
Muhammad Fikri said the collaboration is aimed at improving the well-being of the general community, the asnaf community and the youth in Perak.
“With this cooperation, I hope to further increase awareness among the people in Perak to have takaful protection and implement wakaf practices.
“The activities and programmes that have been designed under this cooperation are also supported by our syariah-compliant fundraising platform, IKHLAS Barakah House,” he said in a statement today.
Apart from the collaboration, Muhammad Fikri said Takaful IKHLAS and MAIPk would also be organising the Asnaf Entrepreneurship Programme (AEP) and the Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (YEP) to provide knowledge, training and skills needed in business and personal development to the asnaf community in Perak.
“The entrepreneurship courses and training provided through the AEP and YEP programmes are intended to build the entrepreneurial spirit and improve the well-being of the asnaf community and the youth.
“These initiatives would in turn, contribute to economic upliftment of the people in Perak,” he said.
Takaful IKHLAS is wholly owned by MNRB Holdings Bhd.
