Putrajaya Ramadan Festival 2023 from March 22 to April 21

PUTRAJAYA, March 9 (Bernama) -- The Putrajaya Ramadan Festival 2023 (FRP2023) which will take place on a larger scale from March 22 to April 21 is expected to attract 500,000 visitors.

Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) said the organisation of FRP2023 with the theme "Seindah Ramadan, Harmoni Lebaran” involved four main components, namely Ramadan Bazaar, Anjung Syawal, Kiblat Walk, and Laman Iftar at Dataran Putrajaya Precinct 3, Putrajaya Corporation Complex and five Putrajaya Ramadan bazaars.

"FRP2023 aims to make Putrajaya a one-stop centre selling iftar food and Raya essentials to enliven the spirit of Ramadan," it said in a statement today.

As for the Ramadan Bazaar component, PPj said more than 500 business lots are available in five locations, namely the site next to Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Precinct 3; Taman Seri Empangan parking lot, Precinct 5; Public Market parking lot, Precinct 8 ; site in front of PPj Depo, Precinct 9; and Precinct 14 Night Market site, which runs from 3 pm to 8 pm.

As for the Anjung Syawal component, it offers more than 200 stalls that sell Raya preparation items, spiritual performances as well as appearances by local celebrities and ‘instafamous’.

The Kiblat Walk component houses stalls selling food, drinks and dry goods as well as Raya clothes and biscuits.

Visitors also have the option to get iftar food at Laman Iftar at PPj Complex, where there are 12 stalls selling various iftar food from 3 pm to midnight.

"Visitors can choose to break their fast and enjoy their ‘moreh’ meal at Laman Iftar with an outdoor cafe concept at the PPj Complex and the field in front of the PPj Complex which is also an iconic location for breaking fast with friends and family.

"This FRP2023 is expected to provide business opportunities for hawkers and small traders to increase their income after the COVID-19 pandemic," the statement added.

Last year, the festival successfully attracted more than 500,000 visitors throughout Ramadan 2022 and recorded gross sales of RM3 million.
