Shahelmey reminds Sabah Ramadan bazaar traders not to raise prices arbitrary
KOTA KINABALU, March 17 (Bernama) -- Ramadan bazaar traders in Sabah are reminded not to arbitrarily increase food prices, in conjunction with the fasting month which begins next week, said Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Shahelmey Yahya.
He said traders were also reminded to always ensure the food quality that is sold to the public is clean and safe to consume.
"With the holding of the Ramadan bazaar, the public is reminded to be smart consumers and to take care of their safety while visiting these bazaars, and traders must ensure reasonable food prices," he said here today.
Shahelmey said this to reporters at the launching ceremony of the RTM Ramadan Tour at the Ministry of Communications and Digital Complex, which was also attended by RTM’s director of Radio programmes Nor'ain Bakir.
RTM (Radio Television Malaysia) Sabah is the first location for the RTM Ramadan Tour programme this year. During the fasting month, RTM will visit 77 selected mosques nationwide, with the last visit being in Perlis on April 15.
"This RTM Ramadan Tour is also very significant and should be continued not only in Sabah but throughout the country in line with the direction of the Sabah Maju Jaya development plan and Malaysia MADANI," he added.
