KUCHING, March 12 (Bernama) -- The opening of the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Ramadan bazaars throughout Sarawak offers local traders an opportunity to generate additional revenue.

In a statement today, SEDC said the move will also make it easier for the public to buy delicacies to break their fast (iftar) throughout the fasting month.

Twelve SEDC Ramadan bazaars opened simultaneously today, including at UTC Kuching, Menara SEDC Ithmus, Medan Niaga Kubah Ria and Medan Niaga Boyan, Media Niaga Sri Aman, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri, Marudi, Limbang and Lawas.

“A total of 243 entrepreneurs selling various products such as main dishes, drinks, pastries, biscuits, fruits, handicrafts and others are participating in the bazaars," the statement said.

The SEDC Ramadan bazaars, which run from today until April 5, are the corporation's annual programme to enliven the Ramadan month celebrations.
