IPOH, March 14 (Bernama) -- The Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout (BSAS) Ramadan Bazaar in Meru Raya here, offering various types of food and beverages, is the longest Ramadan bazaar in Perak.

Organised by the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk), the Ramadan bazaar spans about  500 metres, providing business space for 100 traders selling a wide variety of delicacies including Nasi Vanggey, Royal Popiah Kuala Kangsar, Nasi Ayam Taugeh Las Vegas, Sloopyan Hot Dog, Ayam Goreng Kamiez and Bihun Sup Kedah.

PKNPk deputy chief executive officer (Corporate Relations) Nurdita Fadzlinda Ahmad Rasidi said the initiative was in line with the state government's aspirations through Perak Sejahtera 2030 to provide opportunities and encouragement to small and medium entrepreneurs to seek income sources by engaging in various business activities.

"Last year, PKNPk appointed an event management company to handle the Ramadan bazaar, which successfully attracted 50,000 visitors. This year's bazaar is fully organised by PKNPk through our Assets and Administration Division.

“PKNPk has made several improvements to the facilities to ensure the comfort of visitors to the bazaar. We also ensure that food hygiene is prioritised, and careful attention is given to the selection of traders to ensure diversity and quality of food," she said in a statement today.

Nurdita Fadzlinda said PKNPk provided larger spaces for traders with rental rates ranging from RM1,500 to RM2,500.

She added that the layout of this year's Ramadan bazaar was also more comfortable for visitors, especially with wider pedestrian walkways and sufficient parking spots.

The Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout Ramadan Bazaar operates daily from 3 pm to 11 pm, starting from March 12 until April 9.
