Saharuddin said the eight BRR locations are in Gong Badak in Kuala Nerus; Binjai Low in Marang; Sura Gate in Dungun; Jalan Padang in Kemaman; Kuala Berang in Hulu Terengganu and Kuala Ibaid in Kuala Terengganu; Sungai Tarom in Setiu and Kampung Raja in Besut.

He said besides getting the iftar menu at below RM5, the public can also get a financial incentive of RM20 in the form of e-wallet provided for the first 1,000 visitors at the eight BRRs concerned.

"The implementation for BRR Gong Badak and Binjai Rendah has been carried out on March 15 and 17. For BRR Sura Gate the implementation is on March 22 followed by Jalan Padang BRR (26 March); Kuala Berang BRR (29 March); Kuala Ibai BRR (30 March) ); Sungai Tarom BRR (April 1) and Kampung Raja BRR (April 5).

"We also give an incentive of RM50 to traders who provide cashless payment services as an incentive," he said when met by reporters after a walkabout at Binjai Rendah BRR, here today.

Also present was the Terengganu Health, Housing and Local Government Committee chairman, Wan Sukairi Wan Abdullah.

In the meantime, Wan Sukairi said his party through local authorities (PBT) took the initiative to open complaint counters in 55 Ramadan bazaars throughout the state.

According to him, the move is to enable consumers to make complaints directly to PBT if there are problems related to food safety or price issues.

"Apart from that, our enforcers are also present throughout the bazaar to make random inspections. This is to ensure that the rules related to the preparation and sale of food are adhered to.

"We don't want incidents like food poisoning to happen which not only endanger people's lives, but also give a bad image to the state," he said.
