KUCHING, March 24 (Bernama) -- The Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri treated about 200 members of target groups such as orphans and asnaf to a Sinar Kasih Ramadan Iftar of Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN).

Speaking at the event, she said the function which was organised in conjunction with Ramadan not only to celebrate with the less fortunate, but was also an opportunity to donate and help in the preparation for Hari Raya.

"The coming of Ramadan as we all know is filled with glory and blessings. Therefore, it would be a loss if we don't appreciate it or welcome it with proper events to celebrate Ramadan," she said at the ceremony here tonight.

Nancy said the government is always concerned about the welfare and needs of every community in this country.

"I am callng on donors from the corporate sector, non-governmental organisations and individuals to join YKN in helping those in need.

"The involvement of donors through the corporate social responsibility platform with YKN allows more target groups to be assisted," she said.
