Ramadan 'gift' From Pm To Cheer Up 200 Asnaf Kids
ALOR GAJAH, March 30 (Bernama) -- The mood of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for 200 selected asnaf children in the Masjid Tanah Parliamentary constituency was lighted up when they received a special 'Infak Ramadan' from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim through his political secretary Datuk Azman Abidin.
He said that the ‘gift’ in the form of cash and Aidilfitri kits is expected to cheer up the children while also reducing their financial burden when preparing to celebrate the upcoming Aildifitri.
"Also on behalf of the prime minister, I visited and made a quick contribution to four families from various backgrounds, namely a single mother, mentally ill, frail elderly and the sick," he told Bernama after visiting a patient diagnosed with blood cancer at Kampung Padang Kemunting in Pengkalan Balak here today.
He said the 200 recipients were from the asnaf category and eligible orphans from the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) areas of Kuala Linggi, Tanjung Bidara and Ayer Limau.
"I also welcomed another 200 people to break fast at the Al-Hasaniah Mosque in Kampung Pantai Kuala Sungai Baru, for everyone to experience the blessings of Ramadan and the joy of Aidilfitri," he said.
Among the events that were also attended by Melaka state assembly Speaker Datuk Ibrahim Durum and Kuala Linggi Assemblyman Rosli Abdullah was the presentation of Aidilfitri kits to the chairmen of mosques in the Kuala Linggi constituency.
