Mta Extends Aid To Local Community, Takaful Industry Players Through Csr Initiative
BACHOK, March 31 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) has extended aid to local community members and takaful industry players in Kelantan through its Ramadan corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
Its chief executive officer, Mohd Radzuan Mohamed, said this initiative engages 250 individuals comprising asnaf, mosque congregations, fishermen and takaful agents.
“Apart from commercial activities, we also carry out Ramadan CSR programmes by providing contributions to flood victims in Johor and Kelantan through mosque coordinators, repairing primary schools and purchasing books for libraries.
“This community programme also involves the Malaysian Armed Forces, Muslim reverts and persons with disabilities by providing aid and alms,” he told Bernama.
He was met after the MTA + Chapter Anok Kelate Ramadan Iftar Ceremony in collaboration with the Kampung Kubang Golok Mosque congregation at Pantai Tapang here today.
Mohd Radzuan said MTA also assisted students in several public and private higher education institutions (IPT), including Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin in Terengganu, and several others in different states.
“We are also raising awareness about takaful in education, mainly focusing on the financial aspects for IPT and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students.
“University students are exposed to takaful through programmes that allow them to contribute ideas through related competitions,” he said.
He added that successful participants receive financial incentives, thus fostering a keen interest among the younger generation and encouraging them to explore opportunities in the takaful industry.
