Eaic's #gengsubuhmacamjumaat Initiative Instils Integrity Among Enforcement Personnel - Mohd Na'im

KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 (Bernama) -- The "Ihya' dan Erat Ramadan Bersama #GengSubuhMacamJumaat" programme, organised by the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC), is able to instil values of integrity and honesty among enforcement personnel, said Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) said that it is important for law enforcement officers in this country to forge a closer connection with God.

“If enforcement agencies can carry out their responsibilities with honesty, insya-Allah there will be no issues of leakage and abuse of power," he said in his speech at the programme held at the Federal Territory Mosque here today.

The programme, commencing at 4 am with 'qiamulail' (night prayers), followed by a pre-dawn meal and congregational subuh prayer, was jointly organised by EAIC and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI), in collaboration with celebrity Alif Satar, who initiated the 'GengSubuhMacam Jumaat' campaign.

At the event, Mohd Na’im also launched JAWI's Geng Sedekah Ramadan Fund, aimed at facilitating charitable contributions during Ramadan.

Meanwhile, EAIC commissioner Datuk Seri Dr Yusof Ismail said that today's programme saw an attendance of over 10,000 people.

He said that the programme aims to raise public awareness about the importance of integrity while also urging Muslims to enhance their acts of worship during Ramadan.

"We hope to see continuous implementation of more similar programmes on different platforms...when we're close to God, it's hard for us to go off track," he said.

The programme also featured a talk on integrity by Associate Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim as well as a Quran memorisation competition, which saw Suhail Jamaludin crowned the champion.

In addition, five members of the congregation took home a gold wafer coin from Habib Jewels each after winning a lucky draw sponsored by Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd.
