Bank Rakyat distributes food packs for breaking fast to Bernama staff
KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (Bernama) -- A total of 400 food packs for breaking the fast were distributed by Bank Rakyat to the staff of the Malaysian National News Organisation (Bernama) at Wisma Bernama today.
Bank Rakyat's Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Nizam Sani said the initiative, which had entered its ninth year, was to recognise and appreciate the role of the media as a strategic partner for programmes organised by Bank Rakyat over the years.
"This programme is part of the financial institution's efforts to strengthen relations with media practitioners," he said, adding that 30,000 food packs had been distributed over the nine years.
Also present at the event were Bernama’s International News Service Deputy Editor-in-Chief (acting Editor-in-Chief) Jamaluddin Muhammad, Bernama Corporate Strategy head Mariati Mohd Arif and Bank Rakyat Corporate Communications executive Mohamad Syamin Aizat Samsuri.
Meanwhile, Mariati on behalf of Bernama expressed appreciation to Bank Rakyat for sponsoring the packs.
A total of 3,500 food packs for breaking the fast are being distributed by Bank Rakyat this year to 20 local media organisations around the Klang Valley, Sabah and Sarawak in conjunction with Ramadan.
