Pkns Channels Ramadan Donation Worth Rm5,000 To Pekeas
Shah Alam, April 7 (Bernama) -- Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) donated RM5,000 to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur (PEKEAS) in conjunction with the corporation’s breaking fast event here tonight.
PKNS chief corporate officer (CCO) and Zakat Management Committee chairman Idris Ishak said that it was part of the corporation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) to help the less fortunate, especially orphans, and to cover the costs of operating a welfare home.
“This is PKNS’ tradition since 2014, we will distribute donations to various parties through this CSR initiative and this year, under our PKNS Ramadan Kasih programme, we are giving extensively to the homeless, orphans and the asnaf,” he said when met at the PKNS Ramadan Kasih Iftar event at Shah Alam Convention Centre here today,
Infrastructure, Public Amenities, Agriculture Mondernisation and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Tani Izham Hashim, PKNS chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Mahmud Abbas and Deputy CEO (Management and Entrepreneurship) Suhaimi Kasdon also attended the event, along with 500 PKNS employees.
Idris said he was thankful that all six events planned throughout the Ramadan month had been successful with the cooperation of non-governmental organisations (NGO) around Selangor.
“PKNS used the entire business zakat distribution totalling RM54,000 for all the programmes,” he said.
The programmes included a gotong-royong at the PEKEAS welfare home, a programme for the homeless, donations to the asnaf, distribution of bubur lambuk to staff and the public, a shopping for PEKEAS orphans and the breaking of fast event.
