KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 (Bernama) -- Koperasi Pertubuhan Berita Nasional Malaysia (Bernama) Berhad has kicked off its Ihya Ramadan Sales at Wisma Bernama to help small traders market their products and facilitate Bernama staff to shop for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Koperasi Bernama chairman Datuk Zakaria Abdul Wahab said the two-day programme which is being held from 10.30 am until 3.30 pm, provided an opportunity for entrepreneurs who cannot afford to rent the more expensive spots outside.

“Besides that, some of our staff members do not have the opportunity to shop due to time constraints. So, the cooperative decided to provide stalls selling all kinds of stuff like Raya cookies, shawls, brooches and so on.

“Response was overwhelming but due to limited space we only offer the opportunity to 10 traders,” he said when met today.

At the same time, Zakaria said he hoped that other annual events could be held as part of the effort to increase the cooperative's income and assist Bernama staff who are its members.
