Bernama, Eastin Hotel Fete Orphans At Breaking Of Fast Event
KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) in collaboration with the Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur, feted orphans from Pusat Jagaan Rumah Kesayangan, Petaling Jaya, at the Manisnya Ramadan Iftar breaking of the fast event today.
At the event, a total of RM 8,750 worth of donations in the form of hampers and cash were distributed to 15 orphans from the care centre.
Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur general manager Andrew Law said the programme was held as part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) to help the less fortunate children.
“I also have a child and he is the light of my life, and therefore, i need to share this light with these children. We look forward to doing this more in the future and it is something that we want to do in the long term and not just as a one-off,” he said during the ‘Manisnya Ramadan Iftar’ event at Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
Andrew said he looked forward to engaging in other CSR programmes with Bernama and other companies in the future.
Meanwhile, Bernama chief executive officer Roslan Ariffin said the programme was part of Bernama’s CSR initiatives during the fasting month of Ramadan.
“Bernama hosted an event with the Lembah Pantai community yesterday, and distributed 450 aprons to Ramadan bazaar traders, as well as 200 packets of Roti John to visitors there.
“Tomorrow, we will hold the Sepatu Raya programme where we will distribute raya shoes to orphans,” he said, adding that Bernama was always ready to lend a helping hand to the community.
